This is my second post. I have made the decision that I will use this blogsite for rantings and things of a less personal nature (generally speaking), and allow it to be public, whereas my other journal shall henceforth be private and "friends only." I think this will be a better setup for me in my so-called internet world.
So, a little about me. My name is Jon. I used to run a website called factorQ.net for several years. However, I got tired of paying the expense, and the visitors trailed off eventually, especially after a virus crashed my site. Since, I have not maintained much of an online identity. Yes, I have a MySpace and a LiveJournal, but that's not saying much. Who DOESN'T have those things these days? Also, they do not really define me as a person, nor do they really allow me to have a creative outlet.
So, I have created this "blog" with that very purpose.
Career-wise, I am a computer programmer and I design software for interfacing with databases. However, I also love cars (I have a 2004 Volvo S60R), and offroading (I have a lifted jeep wrangler). I like outdoors activities like hiking and camping. I also love watching movies.
I am interested in politics. I have a liberal leaning, but I also swing conservative occasionally depending on the issue. And when I say liberal, I mean Socialistly. and When I say Conservative, I mean Fascistly. ...what can I say? I like extremes, they balance. However, in spite of being politically charged (and disliking the Bush administration), I am quite Religious. Seventh Day Adventist. But that's neither here nor there.
Staying true to my dorky roots, I LOVE the Linux operating system. I have 2 computers (excluding my work laptop, and one computer in parts), and both are run on Linux. One is 32 bit (Ubuntu), and the other is 64 bit (Ubuntu and OpenSuse dualboot). It is great.
On another note, my girlfriend thinks that it is "Gay" that I have any "blog" sites. I think that may be something I will be addressing later, as I think it depends on the content of any internet source, as opposed to the general sterotype of said source.
Actually, I will probably elaborate on all of these things later on as time progresses and as the wind guides me.
I think that will be all for now, it is now the day after Christmas, technically speaking, and I think I am going to get some sleep.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
(even though there is no one reading....)
